Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book provides a detailed overview of the early organization and work of the Australian Medical Units in Egypt during World War I. It delves into the medical system in place before the war, highlighting its unpreparedness for a large-scale conflict. The author presents a gripping account of the challenges faced by the Australian medical personnel as they responded to the sudden influx of wounded soldiers from the battlefront. The challenges involved in expanding the hospital facilities and managing the increasing number of patients are examined in depth. The book also sheds light on the establishment of auxiliary hospitals, the shortage of staff and equipment, and the innovative solutions employed to overcome these obstacles. Through a chronological account of events, the author captures the magnitude of the medical efforts and the dedication of the Australian medical personnel in providing care to the wounded soldiers.
