June 1941 issue of Transactions of the Bibliographical Society New Series. Octavo, bound in three quarters morocco, marbled endpapers, with the original wrappers bound in, illustrated. Pershing's documentation of the various first edition states of Milton's masterpiece includes a detailed examination of the author's own copies of the work as well as the unmatched Lamport Hall copy and 30 copies in other libraries including the Bodelain Library, British Museum, the collection of J.P.
