Añadir al carritoSoft cover. Condición: Very Good. 1st Edition. First Edition (NAP & 'First edition published 2011'). There are only a few other copies of this book for sale on the Internet. Only this one is signed. Jackie Ranston has flat-signed her name on the half-title page. Actually, I couldn't find another signed copy of any of her books for sale on the Internet. She is an award-winning biographer. This 372 page book is in excellent condition. As you can see from the photographs, the covers are very clean. The only wear is a very tiny closed tear at the bottom of the spine (see photo). The book is perfectly bound, absolutely no issues in that regard. The pages are exceptionally clean and bright. Scrolling through, I didn't see any soiling at all. They're also in excellent condition. The only imperfection I see is that one bottom corner of one page was produced about an inch too long and has been folded back so as not to stick out. There are no markings in this book. There are no attachments. And with the exception of the author's signature, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. It's a beautiful book with a great many photographs, the later ones in color. Signed by Author(s).

Fine unread condition beige linen boards with blindstamped front cover lettering and gold spine lettering contained in a near fine condition photographic dust jacket. Includes Author Dedication; Preliminary Page Quote by Orison Swett Marden; Preface by Suzanne Issa dated April 1994; Acknowledgments; Photo/Illustration Credits and Introduction. Profusely illustrated with black-and-white photographs. Signed, inscribed, and dated (December 1994) by the author, Suzanne Issa, with blue pen at the upper left section of the blank first free front endpaper with an additional gift inscription to the same recipient at the upper right corner of the same page. A small less than one inch repaired closed tear at lower front jacket spine edge. "What was Abe Issa's secret formula to success - the man who in his heyday was known as "Mr. Jamaica"? Where did he get the energy to take on so many jobs - Chairman of the Jamaica Tourist Board, Member of the Legislative Council, President of the Caribbean Tourist Association, chairman or director of 36 companies, and still find time to build his own empire, the highly successful conglomerate, the House of Issa? This first full-length study of Abe Issa reveals a man with vision and enterprise combined with a wealth of imagination and an unquenchable drive that could not fail to impart itself and to infect those who came into contact with him. Who but Abe would buy a hotel in the middle of a world war and make a success of it? Who but Abe would start a political party or post a bond of one million pounds sterling to host a Dior fashion show? Only Abe dared to build a resort hotel in the wilderness which was Jamaica's north coast in 1949. And who, but Abe, could outspeak Castro? To Errol Flynn, Abe was the "Town Father"; to his friends and family he was "an example few could imitate". American billionaire Jack Kent Cooke found Abe "an absolute bear for work and a world-class playboy for pleasure". And charity never had a more self-sacrificing worker. Men found Abe worth emulating, and women found him irresistible. Former Prime Minister of Jamaica, the Rt. Hon. Michael Manley, declared: "Abe Issa was certainly one of the most charming man I ever met, disarmingly, almost dangerously so!" This then was Abe Issa - scholar, sportsman, philanthropist, businessman, industrialist, family man, bon vivant, world traveller, gracious host - the man the Reader's Digest called "Unforgettable". - from the inner front jacket flap.
