Internally Hinges - good condition - hinges are very tight making it difficult to open it fully, some straining. Paste downs - good condition - plain, tanned and foxed, the front paste down has a signature on it. End papers - good condition - plain, tanned and foxed, Title - good condition - b/w copper engraved title page, tanned and foxed, there is a small crease along the bottom edge of the title page. The text of the Historiarum is that of the French scholar & diplomat Jacques Bongars [ 1554 - 1612 ] which was first published in 1581. Ebert noted that Bongar's edition was a 'careful collation of 10 MSs & 3 editions'. Justin - Roman historian about whom little is know.
