Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Inscribed by John McVicar to the title page dated 8.4.75 to the British beat poet and prison educator, Chris Challis. First edition, first printing, with the erratum slip pasted to the title page containing an apology to the convicted murderer, Walter 'Angel Face' Probyn VG plus (light foxing to early page edges, else Near Fine) in a Near Fine unclipped d/w. Scarce in any condition in hardback, particularly signed by McVicar. Challis was highly regarded for his research into Jack Kerouac and the Beat Generation, earning the first Doctorate in Beatology. He authored the travel memoir 'Quest for Kerouac' (Faber, 1984) and published various poems, short stories, and drama reviews before his papers were archived. Meanwhile, McVicar famously took his initial A-Levels while incarcerated in Leicester Prison and went on to study for a post-graduate degree at the University of Leicester after his parole in 1978. This book was likely inscribed to Challis whilst he was serving the final years of his sentence at Leicester Prison. McVicar was eventually released on parole in 1978. Inscribed by Author(s).…
