Hardcover. White & textured canvas, gilt letters on spine, white & color pictorial dust jacket, 498 pp., 40 color, 2130 bw plates. "This groundbreaking book provides new readings -- and fresh translations into English -- of the manuscripts of [Van Gogh's] letters. Presents a well-rounded, intimate portrait of the artist at work. . Every one of Van Gogh's artistic works in all mediums -- paintings, drawings, and graphic works, as well as the sketches in his letters -- is included, and there is a selection of youthful sketches done before he had found his vocation. The vivid, clear text is designed to appear -- as much as possible -- on the same page as the work it describes, and the colorplates also follow the text closely. . Appendices provide bibliographical information, a concordance between the plate numbers in the 1970 catalogue raisonne and the present book, and an index to all the works." (dj) Lavishly illustrated, as you may imagine. G+/VG: (DJ is slightly faded at spine, has a few tears along edges, and has slight soiling on white back; slightly loose jacket edges/creases. The book is in very good condition, with minor wear to the bottom edge block; page surfaces are clear.).…

Hardcover. Condición: Fine. Leichte Gebrauchsspuren.
