Añadir al carritoBuch. Condición: Neu. Neuware - Discrete mathematics refers to the study of mathematical structures which are discrete and not continuous. Logic statements, integers and graphs are some of the objects examined in discrete mathematics. It is concerned with the investigation of countable sets, which might be finite or infinite. Various topics covered under discrete mathematics include set theory, graph theory, combinations, logic, information theory, probability, geometry and algebraic structures. The notations and concepts of discrete mathematics are beneficial in analyzing and expressing objects and issues in the field of computer science, including programming languages, automated theorem proving, computer algorithms, software development and cryptography. Most of the topics introduced in this book cover new techniques and the applications of discrete mathematical structures. It will serve as a valuable source of reference for graduate and postgraduate students. Coherent flow of topics, student-friendly language and extensive use of examples make this book an invaluable source of knowledge.

Añadir al carritoSoftcover. Condición: Very Good. Volume 1, Number 1. Striking cover art and one cartoon by Giorgi Manuilov. Slim quarto. 48pp. Heavily illustrated. Cover nearly separated else very good or better; the interior is fine. The inaugural issue of *Metropolis: New Jersey's Distinctive Magazine*; seemingly the Garden State's answer to *The New Yorker* and heavily modeled after it. Especially notable for printing the first appearance of Langston Hughes' four-page story *Spanish Blood*, about the dramatic rise and fall of a Harlem entertainer named Valerio, who was of African-American and Puerto Rican descent. Also prints "Back on the Road," a five-age piece by by Erskine Caldwell, "Night Scene" by Louis Golding, and a couple of poems by the actor Earl Lawson Sydnor (one titled "Orange, N. J."). The magazine also features two cartoons by Isadore Klein, who illustrated for *The New Yorker*, worked on Krazy Kat, Betty Boop, and Popeye, and may have invented Mighty Mouse. Rare. Part of a trend of magazines popping up in major cities to capitalize on the success of *The New Yorker* but subsequently falling into immediate obscurity. We have been unable to locate another copy of any issue of this magazine (although it *is* listed in Hughes' bibliography as the first appearance of *Spanish Blood*).
