Frakturschrift. - Aus dem Text: Der Vortragende wies eingangs auf das reiche Fundmaterial an Juppitergigantengruppen hin; unter Abrechnung unsicherer Bruchstücke hat er an gesicherten Gruppen in Deutschland und Luxemburg 81 gezählt, wovon er eine gute Hälfte selbst gesehen, ein weiteres Viertel durch Abbildungen kennen gelernt hat, und fährt sodann fort: Maas (Die Tagesgötter, 1902) hält den Juppiter unserer Gruppe für einen beliebigen, wechselnden römischen Kaiser; Freidhof (Programm des Lyzeums Metz, 1892) ebenso für einen beliebigen römischen Reiter; nach Haugs Ausführungen (Bericht über den 4. Verbandstag unserer Vereine, 1903 S. 52 ff.) braucht das nicht mehr erörtert zu werden. So gehe ich gleich zu der Frage, ob Juppiter den Giganten der Gruppe eben besiegt oder eben besiegt hat.
