"Den beiden biedern Fürsten Deutschlands" - Herzog von Braunschweig und Erbprinz von Mecklenburg-Strelitz - von einem "wahren und warmen Patrioten Preußens" gewidmet. Der preußische Beamte Hans von Held (1764-1842) war längst wegen "seiner demokratischen Gesinnungen" bekannt, als er Anfang 1798 sein Amt bei der kurmärkischen Akzisedirektion in Brandenburg antrat. Wenig später veröffentlichte er das berüchtigte "Schwarze Buch" mit den sich später als haltlos erweisenden Anschuldigungen gegen Staatsminister Karl Georg von Hoym und Großkanzler Heinrich Julius von Goldbeck unter dem Titel: "Die wahren Jacobiner im preußischen Staate, oder aktenmäßige Darstellung der bösen Ränke und betrügerischen Dienstführung zweyer preußischer Staatsminister" (1801). Held wurde zu einer 18 monatigen Festungshaft verurteilt, nach Kolberg gebracht und aus dem Dienst entlassen. Das vorliegende Pamphlet mit wiederholten Anschuldigungen verfasste Held während seiner Festungshaft; es erhielt den gleichen schwarzen Umschlag! Er fordert die oben genannten Widmungsempfänger auf, ihn "aus den Klauen der unwürdigen Diener der heiligen Themis (zu) befreien" und sich für die "Befreiung des Vaterlandes von tiranischen Despoten" einzusetzen (siehe S. VIII). Auf einem beigehefteten zeitgen. Notizzettel ist zu lesen: "Dies ist sehr scharf geschrieben u. bereits verboten". Helds Aufstellung für seine Verteidigung, das "Schwarze Register" über die "Güterverschleuderung", veröffentlichte Friedrich von Cölln in seiner Zeitschrift "Neue Feuerbrände" erst 1807. ?
