The results of the monitoring to date show that it is possible to mitigate the negative effects of habitat fragmentation and safeguard habitat connectivity, provided that typical mistakes are avoided. Whilst the findings presented relate primarily to SH, conclusions can be drawn that are applicable far beyond the region. On the one hand, the study presents a generally applicable methodology for cost-effective effectiveness monitoring, including a novel approach to analysing automated camera-trap data on large mammals that avoids misinterpretations. On the other hand, it provides a basis for improving the definition of objectives for and the evaluation of wildlife crossings, as well as recommendations regarding the necessary planning frameworks (indicator systems and standards for measures). Once again, the results demonstrate the crucial importance of the design of the surrounding area, minimising disturbance, and connectivity to the wider landscape.; Seit 2006 wird die Wirksamkeit der Grünbrücke Kiebitzholm kontrolliert, seit 2019 die der fünf weiteren großen Querungshilfen (QH) Schleswig-Holsteins (SH).
