Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Fair. Hardcover. Red cloth over boards with elaborate gilt stamping to front cover and spine; blind stamping to rear. Title page dated 1855. No copyright page. 272 pages. In fair condition. Cloth at head and foot of spine and corners is frayed. Small split beginning at head of spine along hinge. Covers have some light soiling, though I have to admit the beautiful stamping is distracting from those imperfections. Front and rear gutters are beginning to crack through, so binding feels fragile. Gilt page edges. Beautifully realistic illustrations throughout. A fair reading copy.…

Añadir al carritoNo Binding. Condición: Good. Steel engraving: image size 260x222mm including the architecturally arched border, sheet size 280x378mm. Blank to the verso. Good, lightly tanned and foxed with some marks and wear along the edges and corners, small chip to the right left corner (not impacting on the image), and binding holes to the top edge. This was extracted from The Works of Shakespeare (Imperial Edition) edited by Charles Knight, and published by Virtue & Co in installments during 1873-75, then in bound volumes from 1876 into the early 1880s. Engraved by Frederick Augustus Heath from a painting by Robert Huskisson, this illustrates Act II, Scene 1 from A Midsummer Night's Dream, in which the sleeping fairy queen Titania is shown protected by her maids, and her soldiers who are fending off a snail in the foreground. The border features other characters from the play, including a reclining Nick Bottom.…
