Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book explores the history of the King's School in Canterbury, England, one of the oldest schools in the world. The author traces the school's origins back to the Saxon era, when it was known as the School of the Archbishop and of the City, and follows its evolution through the Mid…dle Ages, when it became a Benedictine Priory school. The book also examines the school's reconstitution by King Henry VIII, its subsequent history, and its current status as a thriving institution. Throughout, the author provides a rich tapestry of historical detail, bringing to life the personalities, events, and ideas that have shaped the school's long and distinguished history. The book's insights into the development of education in England, the role of the Church in shaping intellectual life, and the enduring legacy of Canterbury's rich history are sure to fascinate readers interested in education, history, and the enduring power of tradition. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
