Produced by the Women's Comittee of the Walters Gallery in Baltimore, Maryland, with an introduction by James Beard. In the early 1960's the Women's Committee at the Walters Art Gallery began to offer Cooking Classes at the Gallery as an annual activity. This became an immediate success and attracted well known chefs and culinary experts to teach cooking by way of demonstrations. These teachers included James Beard and Muriel Downes. The next step was to produce a cookbook, by way of requesting recipes from the members of the gallery, making this community cookbook of sorts.
