Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book meticulously examines the constitution and rights of the city of Danzig, a powerful city-state, during the period of its greatest influence from the 15th to the 18th centuries. The author analyzes the foundations on which the exceedingly detailed, almost encyclopedic, legal and governing structure of Danzig rested. Through this analysis, the reader gains insights into the governing structure of the city, the relationship between Danzig and the Polish crown, and the relationship between Danzig and the surrounding territories. The author does an excellent job of preserving the historical context while explaining this complex topic in an accessible and straightforward manner that is easy to understand. Ultimately, this book provides a comprehensive framework for understanding the history of one of Europe's most important mercantile hubs, which was home to German and Slavic peoples, during a time of enormous change and conflict. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
