Monica translated these letters and compiled them into two books, My Heartchild and Dear Heini.My Heartchild is a selection of Gertrud's letters, written every second day. The letters reveal her love to her only son and her reactions to the life he described in Sweden. They give a close picture about life as a lonely Jewish woman in Hitler's Germany.
