This volume presents some of the recent advances in research on designing trading agents and mechanisms for agent-mediated electronic commerce. It is built around a collection of articles initially presented at two highly respected international workshops held in the summer of 2009. The ?rst is the 11th - ternational Workshop on Agent-Mediated Electronic Commerce (AMEC 2009) collocated with the AAMAS 2009 conference held in Budapest, Hungary. The second is the 2009 Workshop on Trading Agent Design and Analysis (TADA 2009) collocated with the IJCAI 2009 conference held in Pasadena, California, USA. Contains 18 thoroughly refereed and revised papers detailing the advances in research on designing trading agents and mechanisms for agent-mediated e-commerce. The fundamental part investigatesbargaining within a stylised world, and studies thefactors that influence bargaining outcomes in such asetting. This can provide insights for the productionof software agents, strategies, and setting upbargaining rules for practical situations. This isachieved using computational simulations, as well asgame theory. A framework is then introduced wherenegotiation is used for recommending shops tocustomers, for example on a web page of an electronicshopping mall. Furthermore, a system is presented forselling and personalising so-called informationgoods, such as news articles, software, and music.The system is capable of taking into accountimportant business-related conditions such as thefairness of the negotiation.
