I was a bit surprised to find that this book was quite scarce; only one copy found online. You would have thought that it was widely distributed after the end of World War II. This small hard cover book (5 ¾ x 8 ¼ inches, 233 pages) was published by Whittlesey House, a McGraw-Hill Book Company, dated 1944 as marked on the copyright page and presumably a First Edition. This book is bound in matte black cloth boards with gilt titles on cover and spine. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The hard covers show some dust-dulling and light finish loss, probably from insects (now gone) and the gilt titles on the spine are faded almost to illegibility. The page edges on top and on the upper leading-edge show some of that same insect depredation. Inside, there is the stamped name of a local Veterans Official but that is the only book I found in the book. The interior pages are clean and bright without toning or foxing. Both hinges are intact and the binding is tight, sound and square. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.…
