An iconic Beat magazine, founded after Winter 1959 issue of the Chicago Review was suppressed leading to the editors setting up their own independent magazine. The magazine lasted for five issues from Spring 1959 until 1960.

Draft script for the US premiere of Jean Genet's 1961 play, which opened on November 30, 1971 and ran through December 25, 1971 at the Chelsea Theatre Center in Brooklyn, NY. Genet began writing the play, about life in a poor village in French controlled Algeria, in 1955, and a version was published by L'Arbalete in 1961. Abridged versions of the play were performed in Germany in 1961, Vienna in 1963, and London in 1964. The first performance of the complete text, which contained 16 acts and lasted over 5 hours, took place in Stockholm in 1964, followed by the French premiere two years later. The Chelsea Theatre Center production employed 45 actors on a multi-level set, with elaborate costumes, and cost a reported $109,500, a huge sum for a non-Broadway production, which precluded the play from moving off-Broadway, despite overwhelmingly positive reviews and audience response. Black titled Studio Duplicating Service wrappers, with a credit for playwright Genet. Title page present, undated, with credits for playwright Genet, and for the Chelsea Theater Center. 152 leaves, with last page of text numbered "16-14." Mimeograph duplication. Complete run of the legendary Loujon Press magazine so profusely signed it seems like an avant-garde poetry yearbook with an additional mockup of the last issue and an ALS from Bukowski to the Loujon Press editors. The Outsider was first run out of the Webb's apartment in New Orleans and later at their place in Tuscon. Ornately designed and letterpressed, the installments are themselves audacious art objects produced in small runs. The first volume is signed and inscribed by publisher Gypsy Lou Webb on the front tissue-guard and is additionally signed by Bukowski on the first page and a number of authors at their contributions: Gary Snyder, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Amiri Baraka, Michael McClure, Robert Creeley, Gene Frumkin, John Ashbery, and Diane di Prima. The second volume is also signed by Gypsy Lou plus Anselm Hollo and Gene Frumkin. Volume 3 also signed by Gypsy Lou plus Robert Creeley, Michael McClure, and Anselm Hollo. Vols. 4 and 5 signed by Gypsy Lou plus Anselm Hollo, Gene Frumkin, David Meltzer, and Doug Blazek. The mockup of the last issue includes a hand-written note on the front jacket, likely in the hand of Jon or Lou Webb, discussing the progress of the issue and mentioning delays due to flooding and is signed by Gypsy Lou, Anselm Hollo, and Gene Frumkin. All volumes on the lower end of very good or better, with edgewear and toning to the early volumes and some foxing on the last volume, previous owner signatures on some of the volumes. Bukowski letter is signed, original mailing envelope with his LA address present as is a handwritten letter of provenance (only for the letter) from a previous seller. Letter is near fine.
