Añadir al carritoRare color satin-finish photograph of the Apollo spacecraft over the lunar surface. Boldly signed around the Apollo spacecraft in black felt tip by seven moonwalkers: Buzz Aldrin, Charlie Duke, Gene Cernan, Charles Conrad, Alan Bean, Edgar Mitchell, and Dave Scott. In fine condition. The piece measures 10 inches by 8 inches. On July 20th 1969, American astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed the Apollo Lunar Module Eagle on the lunar surface. Six hours after landing, Neil Armstrong became the first person to step onto the lunar surface; Aldrin joined him 19 minutes later and the two spent over two hours collecting lunar materials. Armstrong's first step onto the lunar surface was broadcast on live TV to a worldwide audience, during which he uttered the historic phrase, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." Apollo 11 effectively ended the Space Race and fulfilled a national goal proposed in 1961 by President John F. Kennedy: "before this decade is out, of landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to the Earth.".

Añadir al carritoPhotographic print of the iconic âEarthrise'Âimage taken by BillÂAndersÂduring theÂApolloÂ8 mission. Glossy finish color print of the earth rising over the moon, with "To Gene Cernan" calligraphically inscribed on the mat beneath. Boldly signed on the mat beneath the photograph by Neil Armstrong, Gene Cernan, George H.W. Bush and Cy Laughter. The first and last men on the moon met future president George Bush at a 1987 âBogie Bustersâ golf tournament in Ohioâ"an annual event hosted by Laughter from 1967 to 1991. Dayton businessman Cy Laughter founded the annual golf tournament, which ran for thirty years, to raise money for charity and it drew many major national celebrities each year. Quadruple matted and framed. The print is in fine condition and the original mat in near fine condition condition. The entire piece measures 19 inches by 17 inches. Rare and desirable. Taken by American astronaut William Anders from lunar orbit on December 24th 1968 during the Apollo 8 mission, 'Earthrise' has become synonymous with the American space program and essentially marked the beginning of the environmental program. In Life's 100 Photographs that Changed the World, wilderness photographer Galen Rowell called Earthrise "the most influential environmental photograph ever taken". Fifty years to the day after taking the photo, William Anders observed, "We set out to explore the moon and instead discovered the Earth.".

Añadir al carritoRare official NASA photograph of the Augmented Target Docking Adapter (ATDA), or 'angry alligator'. Oversized, color semi-glossy photograph of the ATDA as seen from theÂGemini 9 spacecraft during one of their three rendezvous in space. Boldly signed on the mount in blue felt tip by Tom Stafford and Gene Cernan. Mounted. In fine condition with light bumping to the upper left corner of the mount. The piece measures 16 inches by 20 inches. From the personal collection of NASA employee John 'Pete' Peterson, who served in various capacities of media relations at NASA and the Manned Spacecraft Center from about 1961 to about 1973. He first served as the head of News and Media Relations, reporting to Paul Haney, and later as a special assistant to several of the chief astronauts. Due to his military and media background in both WWII and the Korean wars, he befriended and became close to several of the Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, and Skylab astronaut crews. The invaluable Gemini missions of the 1960s were aimed to test spaceflight techniques necessary for the Apollo moon landings. Gemini 9 was the seventh crewed Gemini flight, the 15th crewed American flight and the 23rd spaceflight of all time, during which Stafford and Cernan rendezvoused with the Augmented Target Docking Adapter and discovered a launch preparation error that prevented docking.

Añadir al carritoComplete set of 12 photographs of the Apollo Moonwalkers. Set of 12 photographs, all of which are official NASA lithographs with the exception of the Alan Shepard photo. Each is individually signed in ink or felt tip as follows, "Neil Armstrong," "We Came in Peace, Buzz Aldrin, Apollo XI," "Charles Conrad, Jr.," "Alan L. Bean," "Alan Shepard," "Best wishes, Edgar Mitchell, Apollo 14" "Dave Scott," "Jim Irwin," "John Young," "Charlie Duke, Apollo 16," "Jack Schmitt," and "Gene Cernan, Apollo XVII." Each photograph measures 10 inches by 8 inches. A rare collection, as most photographs were inscribed not just signed by the astronauts. The Apollo program, also known as Project Apollo, was the third United States human spaceflight program carried out by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), which accomplished landing the first humans on the Moon from 1969 to 1972. First conceived during Dwight D. Eisenhower's administration as a three-man spacecraft to follow the one-man Project Mercury which put the first Americans in space, Apollo was later dedicated to President John F. Kennedy's national goal of "landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to the Earth" by the end of the 1960s, which he proposed in an address to Congress on May 25, 1961. A total of twelve astronauts had the opportunity to walk on the Moon between 1969 and 1972, becoming the first and only humans to set foot on another celestial body and marking a significant milestone in the advancement of our understanding of the universe.
