This Holland Press edition, limited to 600 numbered copies, is by far the BEST available (please keep reading). BRAND NEW in perfect condition (having been protected since day 1 by a plain glassine jacket which is still present but has chips and tears). NO rubbing. NO fading. Bright, clean, square and tight. Sharp corners. NO owner's name or bookplate. NOT a remainder. Fresh and crisp -- obviously never read. The best edition of the best wine bibliography. This Holland Press edition has 680 pages, double the number found in the original 1913 edition and reprints of it. This 1979 edition is the only one that is reprinted from Simon's own interleaved "office copy" which "served as a record of the author's efforts to update" the book. Over a period of more than 50 years, Simon added about 1000 new titles to the 6,500 he described in the original catalogue. Simon's handwritten notes and additions on the interleaf pages are reproduced here exactly as he put pen to paper. There is also a New Foreword by Hugh Johnson.
