Contributors include David Lowenthal on landscape as heritage, Charles McKean on the Scottishness of Scottish architecture, Duncan Macmillan on the arts, John Purser on music, Elisabeth Luard on cooking, the Earl of Glasgow on opening a family estate to the public, and Gordon Baxter on the Baxters visitor centre. Case studies take in New Lanark, Chatelherault, the British Golf Museum and the agricultural heritage centre at Aden.
