Hardcover. Condición: Very Good -. First Edition. A verbose line under the title explains that these approx. 290 pages (UNpaginated) bring tother all the issues of the WWI trench magazine. For the UNinitiated, Wipers was soldier talk for Ypres. Censorshop rules meant that all entries were made in coded language. The magazines mandate was toamuse , so humour abounds. For instance, a lectire is advertised fir Town Hall, Plug Street, on page 91 - it is to be give by Mrs. Intha Pink. Later there is a Mesopotamian Alphabet that offers thar `P' os for Postal officials who each week fail to deliver more than half our mail. A serious notice notes the departure of Mobbs, Compton and De La LFontaine. It means, but doesn't say : Deaths. READ more about : Dead Cow Theatre, zizzler, Red Cross badge, Cockles Tumley, Somme-Times, and Messines district. All tongue in cheek. Cond : Boards are brown with black lettering. White end-papers.
