The nine chapters in this volume look at many aspects of Burmese life including childhood and adolescence, manhood and occupation, trades and professions, the non Burmese living in Burma including the Shan, Karen, Chin, Chimpaw, Chinese, Indians and Europeans, the politics, festivals and death. Appendices include information of the structure of the Burmese language and Notes on Burmese Music (by P.A. Mariano). First published in London in 1901 this is an attractive reprint with the illustrations clearly reproduced.

This is an ex university book with stamps on some pages. The covers have some rubbing, staining, with some bumping to the edges. The spine is rubbed with a number penned at the bottom. The binding is firm. Some pages have some staining with some tanning. One page is not attached to the binding. This book has 237 pages. All in all a nice example of this book.
