Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. Neuware - Scientific Essay from the year 2024 in the subject Business economics - Information Management, grade: 1,0, Edinburgh Napier University (EMRI), language: English, abstract: This systematic review synthesizes research conducted from 2015 to 2023 on the efficacy of virtual reality (VR) interventions within pain management with a particular focus on opportunities to enhance healthcare quality. Employing the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines, we conducted a comprehensive literature search identifying and analyzing 50 studies. These studies were selected to investigate VR's effectiveness across three key domains: reducing patient pain intensity, elevating patient satisfaction, and demonstrating suitability for various pain conditions. In line with PRISMA guidelines, our literature search was rigorous and exhaustive. We aimed to identify relevant studies that collectively examined the effectiveness of VR in pain management. Our primary objectives included assessing VR's potential as both an alternative and a complement to traditional pharmacological pain management approaches. We also evaluated VR's capacity to improve the overall quality of healthcare. Our comprehensive review of 50 studies unequivocally demonstrates that VR interventions can significantly reduce patient pain intensity and elevate overall satisfaction levels. Moreover, these studies consistently confirm the suitability of VR for managing a wide range of pain conditions, reinforcing the importance of integrating VR modalities into clinical pain management practices.…

Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Academic Paper from the year 2019 in the subject Philosophy - Practical (Ethics, Aesthetics, Culture, Nature, Right, .), grade: 1.00, Edinburgh Napier University, language: English, abstract: In this discussion, the author reflects on the value given to knowledge in a business context and deliberate a contrary philosophical perspective which does not conform to prevailing knowledge theory. It will be considered why, if knowledge is key for business success and competitive advantage, the transfer of knowledge within an organisation remains problematic. Whereby, if the creation of knowledge before transfer is recognised is a significant factor in determining a starting point for analogous scrutiny, then what makes this focal point so difficult to establish and measure It is therefore considered parallelism between agents who believe propositions and the formal system that derives proposition. In doing so, we synthesise from current literature and research, the epistemic principal of 'knowledge', which underpins the understanding of the many congruent knowledge transfer theories, in a business context. To do this we reflect on Lindström and the epistemic states of Spohn, wherein, we can draw on descriptions of conditional doxastic maps, as a natural extension of contemporary Kripke models. We conclude the epistemic principle of 'knowledge', which underpins the plausibility of comparisons between epistemically distinguishable knowledge transfer, must include perspectives and doyennes from a recognisable, not implied, value standpoint.…

Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Academic Paper from the year 2005 in the subject Sociology - Knowledge and Information, grade: 1.0, Oxford University (Campion Hall), language: English, abstract: The importance given to knowledge in relation to business success has never been so great as it is today and there is a substantive amount of important and informed studies reflecting this. Nonetheless, informed approaches by prominent authors generally focus on knowledge transfer mechanisms and the efficiency of these mechanisms to support and deliver competitive advantage. An overarching objective of understanding efficient knowledge transfer is therefore a central caveat for businesses wishing to achieve success and maintain competitive advantage since it is clear that any significant degradation of efficiency will directly affect this objective. Many studies do recognise the creation of knowledge as a significant factor in determining how effectively a business develops, and knowledge creation is used as a baseline for numerous historic and current studies. To date, however, there have been few studies which denote the affect of socio-cultural or religious phenomena within a transfer scenario as significant, and how this interaction may affect the outcome of the knowledge shared or exchanged in a business context. This paper therefore examines how, in a business context, knowledge transfer is influenced by perspectives given to the knowledge. This rational is deliberate since the transfer of knowledge is rarely a simple unproblematic event. In this regard, we look at a significant amount of literature and research which has been constructed in a bid to understand both the problematic nature surrounding the mechanics of the transfer sequence and definition of the term 'knowledge' to support the establishment of meaningful baselines. The paper then summarises these theoretical baselines into segmented contexts with deliberate intention.…

Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Scientific Study from the year 2024 in the subject Education - Educational Tests & Measurements, grade: 1, Edinburgh Napier University, language: English, abstract: The rapidly evolving technological landscape has had a profound impact on virtually every aspect of our lives, and education is no exception. In 'Technological Evolution and Societal Shifts,' Dr. Michael Fascia presents a comprehensive examination of how modern technology can transform educational systems, addressing both the potential benefits and the myriad challenges associated with integrating technology into learning environments. This work is particularly timely given the recent global shifts prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The sudden transition to remote learning has underscored the essential role of technology in education and highlighted the pressing need for educational systems to adapt to an increasingly digital world. The traditional model of education, with its standardized and often rigid approaches, is proving inadequate for preparing students for the complexities of the 21st century. Dr. Fasciäs research provides a detailed exploration of how educational paradigms can evolve to better meet the needs of today¿s students through the thoughtful integration of technology.Dr. Fascia emphasizes the importance of personalized learning environments made possible by advanced digital tools and adaptive software. These technologies enable educators to tailor learning experiences to individual student needs, thereby enhancing engagement and improving educational outcomes. The book explores various case studies, including Finland¿s innovative use of artificial intelligence in classrooms and Singapore¿s Smart Learning Spaces, to illustrate practical applications of technology that have led to significant improvements in student learning. However, the integration of technology in education is not without its challenges. Dr. Fascia addresses the critical issue of the digital divide, which exacerbates existing inequalities by limiting access to digital devices and reliable internet connectivity for underprivileged and rural communities. He advocates for policies that ensure equitable access to technology, comprehensive teacher training, and robust data privacy measures to protect student information. These measures are essential for creating an inclusive educational environment where all students can benefit from technological advancements. Moreover, this book provides a framework for integrating technology into education, emphasizing the need for a strategic and coordinated approach.…

Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Doctoral Thesis / Dissertation from the year 2013 in the subject Business economics - Business Ethics, Corporate Ethics, grade: 1.0, Edinburgh Napier University (Business School), language: English, abstract: This study seeks to understand knowledge transfer practices within the Muslim business community in Edinburgh. It investigates how knowledge transfer practices are managed on a day to day basis, examines the route of development and justification for these practices into meaningful knowledge transfer processes, and explores the underlying perspective of knowledge from the knowledge transfer practitioners view of knowledge transfer practices in a business context. In particular, the study seeks explanations for such practices with reference to both a knowledge-based and a resource-based view of the firm. Due to the multifarious phenomena of knowledge transfer, and to allow a scope necessary to establish epistemological and empirical evidence from literature, a two stage literature review process was adopted. The majority of literature expounds an argument in which knowledge and knowledge transfer processes in a business context are embedded within a set of real world dimensions, based on causal relationships. Literature determines that it is overcoming difficulties with this framework which is critical for a businesses ability to manage, utilise and extract value from multiple internal and external sources of knowledge. Four broad themes were identified, from which most literature supported this argument: Psychological, Organisational, Philosophical and Cultural. Data collection and analysis were carried out in two phases. Phase one was based on ethnographic participant observation which proved unsuccessful due to an underestimation of the complexity of the participants personal perspective and researcher bias. Phase two was informed by the difficulties encountered in phase one and proved successful in capturing meaningful data. Following a thematic logic, themes were carefully unpacked in an iterative process, so that an understanding of knowledge transfer experiences within the Muslim business community in Edinburgh became clear. In summary, the study provides a deep understanding of the knowledge transfer practices in the Muslim business community in Edinburgh. Through the systematic and dialectic analysis of knowledge transfer participants daily practices, the details and dynamisms underpinning knowledge transfer processes are revealed.…

Moreover, this book provides a framework for integrating technology into education, emphasizing the need for a strategic and coordinated approach.GRIN Publishing GmbH, Waltherstraße 23, 80337 München 76 pp. Englisch.…

Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. This item is printed on demand - Print on Demand Titel. Neuware -Doctoral Thesis / Dissertation from the year 2013 in the subject Business economics - Business Ethics, Corporate Ethics, grade: 1.0, Edinburgh Napier University (Business School), language: English, abstract: This study seeks to understand knowledge transfer practices within the Muslim business community in Edinburgh. Through the systematic and dialectic analysis of knowledge transfer participants daily practices, the details and dynamisms underpinning knowledge transfer processes are revealed.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 296 pp. Englisch. …
