Color pictorial blue cloth covered boards with black and red lettering and black and tan decoration to upper cover with the slightest touch of wear to the bottom two fore edge corners for what is a very nice copy of the book. The Stump Books all had a bone closure attached to the back cover by way of a strip of cloth, which is somewhat worn in the particular copy; the front cover with a cloth loop which is missing in this copy and has left two vertical splits in the cloth where the loop was originally attached, for the bone closure to fit into to secure the fragile books' covers. The closing mechanism here is incomplete and not functioning as originally intended. Top edge tinted red. The front paste-down endpaper with a list of the seven titles in the series; the rear paste-down endpaper with the final full color drawing. [40] leaves with gift inscription dated 1907 on backside of first text page. Printed on one side of the leaf only, on stiff thick paper, with text on versos and illustrations on rectos. This Japanese version of the Ten Little Niggers is illustrated with twenty full color full page drawings by Hassall, each opposite a page of text. The condition of the book is VERY GOOD +.
