The staple bound backstrip has bright yellow tape over the staples. The previous owner wrote name & April '76 date neatly in ink on top edge of first (editorial list) page. This book is otherwise clean & very tight. The wrappers have a little light soiling, wear, & edgewear. The front wrapper has a light vertical crease and the back wrapper has a light short crease close to both corners The applied yellow tape has a small tear. There is a typed note from the publisher that two pages are reversed in order. The leaves are in very good condition with no markings - some have bumped corners. Ships within 24 hours. Lehman's 1963 study, 'The Structure of Chin Society', describes Chin society by dividing it into two main groups: hill-dwelling Chin who practice shifting agriculture, and plains Chin who live among the Burmans and cultivate rice. The book analyzes kinship, land use, and traditional religion, and compares the Northern Chin with the Southern Chin. It also discusses the influence of Burman civilization on Chin culture and notes that the term "Chin" itself is a Burmese word, not a self-applied term by the people.
