Page-edges yellowed. 12 black and white plates of illustrations by Tom Scott, the first one (frontispiece) has become detached. Endpapers rather browned and previous owner of 1936 has gouged their surname out on inside of front board leaving a blemish with the rest of an ink inscrption. Front boards are in sturdy condition if a little discoloured in places with a crease to cloth to top-right area of front board, some fraying to top and bottom edge of spine. There is no dustcover and no obvious printed date but I would estimate 1910s. The second edition was limited to 1500 copies.
