Two scratches on Side One and a single scratch on Side Two that may affect playback, good or better in a very good cardboard gatefold sleeve with a fold out sheet of black-and-white illustrations bound in, exterior rubbed and corners bumped. The illustrations include "The Last Flower: A Parable in Pictures." The back cover states, "*A Thurber Carnival* opened at the ANTA Theatre in New York on February 26, 1960. The present recording includes a sequence, 'Memorial to a Dog,' that was cut from the production before the opening because of time considerations, but is included here as representing Mr. Thurber's abiding affection for dogs of all walks of life." Loosely based on "Willie and Joe," two humorous characters created by cartoonist Bill Mauldin. From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s. 8 x 10 inches. Eight vintage full-color British front-of-house cards from the UK release of the 1956 US film. An ex-soldier's marriage is in trouble when his wife is caught in the draft. The couple is recalled to serve again, in light of the shortage of military personnel, but the husband is reclassified for health reasons, and the wife stays on to help. From the director of "The Girl Can't Help It" (1956) and "Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?" (1957). 8 x 10 inches. Light creases overall, and faint soil on the versos, else Near Fine.

Tom Ewell (1909 - 1994) is best known for AdamÕs Rib (1949) with Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn, The Seven Year Itch (1955) with Marilyn Monroe for which he won a Best Actor Golden Globe, The Girl CanÕt Help It (1956) with Jayne Mansfield and Edmond OÕ Brien, and for the television series Baretta (1975 - 1978) as ex-cop Billy Truman with Robert Blake for which he was nominated for an Emmy.

First Draft script for the 1958 film with single "?" notation in manuscript pencil. Good-guy Max (Tom Ewell) and mooch Gus (Mickey Rooney) are horse-race loving pals whose lives are going nowhere. Desperate, they turn to bank robbery and actually pull it off. Using the money to buy a race horse, their bookie pal Rocky (Mickey Shaughnessy) wants in. When they loose their bank roll after their horse is disqualified, they figured they'd rob a bank again.
