The Gingin Chalk is a marine geological formation found only in Western Australia, but which contains an assemblage of microfossils closely resembling those of the European and North American Upper Cretaceous. The author undertakes a detailed study of the foraminifera and ostracoda contained within, and identifies 134 species, 59 of which have never previously been recorded in the Cretaceous.
