This is verified by more than 130 design awards and an impressive number of patents. EOO…S pursues a consistent reduced design language, alternating between archaic and high-tech and entirely free from stylistic affectations. This first and long overdue monograph on EOOS is divided into three parts, and is a source of inspiration, analysis, and documentation. Part one is based on a series of images, which gives insight into the 'making of' - into the way in which EOOS approaches the design process. It shows references, links, drawings, research material, and finished products. In part two, EOOS assumes the form of first-person narrator to report on selected designs, backgrounds, and details of their histories. Part three documents in chronological order all the EOOS products that have gone into production, as well as projects and design experiments conceived purely by and for EOOS.; In Ovids Metamorphosen ist EOOS eines der Zugpferde des Sonnenwagens: in der globalisierten Welt des Designs ist das vor 20 Jahren in Wien gegründete Büro EOOS eine Triebfeder. Das belegen eindrucksvoll die über 140 Designpreise und eine stattliche Anzahl an Patenten. EOOS verfolgt eine konsequent reduzierte Designsprache, changierend zwischen Archaik und Hightech und gänzlich frei von stilistischen Allüren. Die erste, längst fällige Monographie des Büros gliedert sich in drei Teile und ist Inspirationsquelle, Analyse und Dokumentation in einem. Teil eins ermöglicht in Form einer Bildstrecke Einblicke in das 'Making of', in die Herangehensweisen von EOOS im Designprozess. Gezeigt werden Bezüge, Verweise, Zeichnungen, Recherchematerial und fertige Produkte. In Teil zwei berichtet EOOS in Form eines Ich-Erzählers über ausgewählte Designs, Hintergründe sowie Details aus deren Entstehungsgeschichten. Teil drei dokumentiert in einer Werkliste sämtliche in Serie gegangenen Produkte sowie veröffentlichte Designs in chronologischer Abfolge.
