A monumental, scholarly history of the Middle Ages in Denmark, this 2 volume set has held enormous value for Danish literature, art, and DenmarkÆs identity. This literary relic was also monumental in European literature around the 1200s. The 2nd volume begins in the Viking age with Harald Bluetooth and the conversion to Christianity. The 2nd volume ends in the 1180Æs in the tumultuous times of great conquests and bloody civil wars.
