Añadir al carritoTrade paperback. Condición: Very good. Presumed First Printing. 224, [4] pages. Illustrations. Sticker residue on back cover. Inscribed by the co-author (James Ehl); Inscription reads: For Dale--A Treasured Colleague, Jim. Includes Foreword, Photographs, and Conclusion. Also includes 9 chapters containing matter of fact accounts of life in World War II Germany as remembered and told by the children who endured the chaos and hardship brought to their homes by the war. James Ehl along with Margret Mefford wrote Journey to Freedom: Collected Stories of Perseverance and Survival in the Presence of Great Adversity. It is about German ladies of Limestone County in Alabama and their path to get to where they are now. James earned his MBA from Alabama A&M and his AMP from Harvard. He is the holder of two aerospace-related patents. He is the author of numerous papers and presentations. He was awarded the NASA Exceptional Service Medal and also the Outstanding Leadership Medal. He retired from NASA as a Senior Executive and subsequently was a successful aerospace consultant. The authors conclude that we should not be consumed with despair by the vagrancies of human behavior. Rather, we should be vigilant to guard the freedoms that were secured for us by the sacrifice of much blood and treasure, by true patriots over the centuries "Journey to Freedom is a matter of fact account of life in World War II Germany as remembered and told by the children who endured the chaos and hardship brought to their homes by the war. None survived unscathed; there are tales of hardship, humor, compassion and opportunity. This series of remembrances provides poignant glimpses into the daily lives of children and their families as they struggle to survive defeat, occupation, the emergence into a changed world and finally a new life, in a new country." -- back cover. These stories will make laugh, cry, but most of all it will make you think of the other side of WWII. A must read for anyone who wants to know how war really changes life!
