Hardcover. Condición: Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: near fine. Limited Edition. Octavo, 10 volumes, complete. A fine, sharp set in the publisher's full plum cloth with black spine labels, titled in gilt. Many pages in some volumes unopened. In the original grey paper dust jackets, near fine, with occasional edge nicks and abrasions, small area of scuffing to the spine on volume X, and mild, even rubbing to the spines generally, but overall very nice. A handsome set, one of 675 produced, which includes some illustrations, some from artistic portraits of the author and related figures, along with some nice reproductions of documents relating to his life and work. Peacock, a master of English satire, was by day an official with the British East India Company. He also maintained a close and mutually influential friendship with Percy Bysshe Shelley. This lovely set is scarce in commerce, and most appealing in its original dust jackets.
