ILP examines how nonnative speakers comprehend and produce action in the second language and investigates how language learners develop the ability to understand and perform action in the target language (Kasper and Rose, 2002). Second language pragmatics testing is a new field of inquiry and related research conducted up to date, despite being insightful, leaves a lot to be desired.
