Next, their drummer lost his arm in a car crash, and took four years to learn how to play one-handedly. Then guitarist Steve Clarke died of a drink and drug overdose in 1991, after which the group kept a low profile. Def Leppard reappeared at the Freddie Mercury concert at Wembley, gleaned a multi-platinum CD in 'Adrenalize' and finished their 1994 tour with a huge open air show at the Don Valley Stadium in their home town of Sheffield.
