It has been prepared in collaboration with the Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation, which was established by the artist to provide funds for AIDS research and photographic projects. ' (Quote taken from the front flap of the dustwrapper) ***First impression of the true first edition, printed on nice photographic quality paper, sumptuously illustrated with Robert Mapplethorpe's monochrome photographs, complete in the original dustwrapper, in very nice, clean bright collectable condition. Condición: Near Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Near Fine. 1996. First edition. Bulfinch Press. Boston. 1996. First edition. Hardback, large quarto; grey cloth-bound boards, dust jacket. [c.180 pages]. Over 170 full-page colour and duotone plates. English. 350x280mm. 2kg. Near fine, in near fine dust jacket; very slight shelf wear. An insight into the idiosyncratic flourishes which make a house into a home. Bruce Weber takes the reader around the world, looking at how creative individuals' homes reflect their own particular personalities. Here are interiors and exteriors, panoramas and details: Siegfried and Roy's tiger-striped (and tiger-filled) Las Vegas suite; Georgia O'Keefe's ghost ranch in New Mexico; Chris Isaak's childhood home in suburban California; the Duchess of Devonshire's stately home in England; Andrew Wyeth's Maine lighthouse retreat; Diana Vreeland's New York apartment; Cy Twombly's palazzo; and Weber's own Montana ranch, amongst others. Something of a departure from Weber's usual subject matter, the book has echoes of Horst's Vogue's Book of Houses, Gardens, People (1968). Beaux Books specialises in fine and rare books on art and culture in the 20th and 21st centuries. We welcome questions about our books and we are happy to provide any extra images.
