Antoine-François-Adolphe Delabarre (1819-1878) fut docteur en médecine et dentiste, notamment de l'hospice des Enfants-Trouvés et Orphelins de Paris. Il devint le dentiste de la duchesse de Berry et peut-être un temps du roi Louis XVIII. Il découvrit les avantages de la gutta percha (sève coagulée d'un arbre de Malaisie) en dentisterie et développa son application aux appareils dentaires ; il prit un brevet en 1851. La planche est constituée de quatre figures.
