After returning to Europe and the United States, Stowitts opened his collections to record crowds in many of the world's most prestigious museums. Stowitts was hailed as "America's First Ambassador of International Culture". In 1932 he moved to southern California where he continued to paint, perform, completed book manuscripts and appeared in a several motion pictures.".
