Otherwise very good. Creasy (1812-1878) was an English historian and jurist who finished his career as Chief Justice of Ceylon (now Sri Lanka). His history of Ottoman Turkey was largely based on the ten volume work "Geschichte des Osmanischen Reiches" by the great Viennese orientalist, Baron Joseph von Hammer-Purgstall, which was then unavailable in English.…
