A sorceress evoking love. Most likely from Teniers Gallery, published in Amsterdam in mid 18th century. From a series of etchings as a part of Theatre of Paintings (Theatrum Pictorum) published by David Teniers the Younger in the 1660s for his employer at the time, Archduke Leopold Wilhelm of Austria. It was a catalog of numerous paintings and painters in the Archduke?s collection. Teniers prepared the engravings of the paintings for the book. See British Museum for more on earlier print, c.1660.
