Añadir al carritoSoftcover. Second edition. Cream and illus. wraps, 56 pp., 19 BW illus., incl. maps. Issued in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the laying of the cornerstone of the Trenton Battle Monument. Two of the original bronze plaques on the monument were designed and crafted by American realist Thomas Eakins (1844-1916). These plaques (and the third, by Karl H. Niehaus) were moved for better preservation to the New Jersey State Museum in 1973. Reproductions were placed in return on the monument. This book recounts the Battle of Trenton in December 1776, the progress of the American Revolution afterward, the history of the monument and the panels, Eakins' bronzes, and Eakins's life as well. A scarce second edition regarding these specific bronzes. VG- (Ex-art gallery, with label on front cover and few marks on tp; otherwise only slightly aged or worn.).
