Diese Arbeit zeigt einen theoretischen optionalen Entscheidungsspielraum, dessen Besonderheit die Kombination aus Customer Relationship Management und Key Account Management ist und für grundsätzliches jedes Unternehmen in der Konsumgüterindustrie gilt gleich welcher Größe. Dabei ist die Abgrenzung zur Industriegüter- und Dienstleistungsbranche gerade zu unabdingbar, da gravierende Unterschiede im Bereich des Marketings und im Besonderen in der Vertriebspolitik bestehen. Auf Grund dieser wesentlichen Unterschiede zwischen den einzelnen Branchen ist die Eingrenzung auf den Konsumgüterbereich in der thematischen Fragestellung von entscheidender Bedeutung.Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es darüber hinaus, eine Strategie zu entwickeln, die im Business-to-Business-Bereich eine Art Win-Win-Situation realisiert, von der beide Seiten profitieren. Sodass ein professionelles Beziehungsmanagement entsteht, das als Fundament einer neuen Qualität im Zusammenspiel zwischen Industrie und Handel bezeichnet werden kann. Zudem wird zielführend der Kerngedanke von CRM in Bezug auf das Key Account Management aufgezeigt.Die Intention vorliegender Arbeit ist es nicht, das Key Account Management neu zu erfinden oder einen neuen Managementansatz für die Kundenorientierung zu kreieren. Im Mittelpunkt steht die Fragestellung: Ist CRM eine sinnvolle Strategie für das Key Account Management in der Konsumgüterindustrie.
