Mancanze al dorso, all'interno ottimo esemplare in barbe. «Il Cherubini si rivela poeta di facile vena bernesca, in cui emergono numerosi i motivi autobiografici accanto a temi più consueti, quali la polemica antifemminile e, soprattutto, contro il matrimonio ("vorre' morire anziché maritarmi."). Gli stessi versi riappariranno poi nel volume assai più ricco e vario delle "Poesie bernesche" (Venezia 1767) [.]. Accanto alle edite compaiono in questa edizione altre poesie spesso polemiche con i costumi e con le mode contemporanee, a partire dal teatro del Goldoni ("non lo posso sofferire") (Dizionario Biografico degli Italiani, s.v. Cherubini). Al frontespizio bel ritratto a piena pagina dell'autore ad opera di Alessandro Longhi, frontespizio finemente illustrato. Il volume si apre con la dedicatoria al sig. «Antonio Rossetti mercante di Trieste», cugino del Cherubini, ed è diviso in 32 capitoli, nei quali l'autore affronta i più svariati argomenti: dall'amicizia, il tema su cui si sofferma maggiormente, al modo di comportarsi con le donne, dalla vanità al gioco, dalle frodi alle offese. Notevole l'antiporta figurato in stile neoclassico e la vignetta al frontespizio, con una donna dalla testa alata.
