Early reprint - probably circa 1910-1920 (originally published by Rhodes & McClure in 1898). Paged as 3-255, [3] plus six unpaged b/w plates (single-sided frontis and five double-sided plates amongst text). Hardcover: H 19.25cm x L 12.75cm. Dust jacket with color pictorial front panel; dj soiled and foxed with small chips, spine panel darkened; several tears, and some creasing; rippled 2.5cm tear at front panel's lower center right; dj presented in an older mylar protector. Dark red cloth; light scuffing/bumping at spine ends and board corners. Light toning/foxing to text block's top edge and to endpapers; interior leaves overall remain clean. Binding is firm.

Wrapper has been internally reinforced with special non acidic archive tape and is now in a clear removable protective sleeve. Not price clipped, illustrated, Inscribed to rear of frontespiece, 'A.E. Barnett with my Best Wishes Kenneth Dawson Christmas 1932 ' no other inscriptions. Clean copy internally with little wear.

Cloth. Condición: Very Good Minus. First Edition. 4to. 28 color illustrations and 55 in black and white. xxv, 256 pp. A third to a half of the pages have some foxing, which can range to insignificant to bothersome. One of the color plates has an one inch marginal closed tear. The color plates are generally clean, and it is these that are probably the key point of interest in the book.
