The Archbishop's mission has come to an end, but we are glad to learn that an association entitled The Friends of the Assyrian Church has come into being.' He points out that the mission has been incorporated in the Jerusalem and the East Mission.We were aware of this. But when A has been absorbed by B contrany to his won wishes (as we believe the process of degultition to have been in this instance) we think that A may be said to have ceased to exist,even if B proposes to assume someof the functions formerly discharged by A. We have nothing but respect for the Jerusalem and the East Mission. But we cannot but doubt its power to aid the Assyrian Church on any considerable scale in any very effective fashion.'
