Sono diversi gli argomenti "alla moda" trattati dal Caselli, intorno all'elettricità, al magnetismo, ai fenomeni atmosferici estremi (trombe d'aria, grandine, pioggia di fango, di zolfo e di sangue), astronomici, fisici (quali l'eco), allo studio dei minerali, alle scomperte e invenzioni del suo tempo (fra le quali, le mongolfiere).
