Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. Neuware - Sophia Chen has spent seven years building her San Francisco marketing agency from the ground up. Chen Marketing is successful, respected, and entirely hers, but the long hours and constant need for control have left little room for a life beyond work. Winning the Reed Industries account could take her company to a new level, provided she can withstand the man behind it. Billionaire technology founder Jackson 'Jax' Reed is demanding, intimidating, and famous for treating business, and relationships, without sentiment. Yet beneath his ruthless public image is a lonely man quietly questioning whether wealth and professional dominance are enough. When Sophia challenges his strategy in a tense boardroom confrontation, Jax finally meets a woman who refuses to flatter him or back down. Their fierce professional chemistry quickly becomes something more. Wanting Sophia to choose him freely, Jax removes himself from oversight of her company's contract before asking her on a real date. For the first time, both begin imagining a future in which success and love can coexist. Then private messages from Jax's past become public, exposing the cold, emotionally unavailable man he once was. Frightened that his transformation may be temporary, Sophia walks away. She retreats into the same punishing work habits she condemned in him, while Jax leaves day-to-day control of his empire and dedicates himself to helping teenagers failed by the foster-care system. When their paths cross again at a charity gala, Sophia must decide whether fear will define her future, or whether genuine change deserves another chance. The Merger We Never Planned is a heartfelt, steamy contemporary romance about ambition, redemption, second chances, and found family. It is the story of two powerful, imperfect people discovering that love is not a weakness, and that the most meaningful partnership they will ever build cannot be measured by revenue, reputation, or success together.…

Hardcover. Condición: gut. 2003.
