This is the complete set of The Journals of the Expedition Under the Command of Capts Lewis & Clarke, the government-ordered expedition (1804-1806) to cross the newly acquired western portion of the United States after the Louisiana Purchase. This edition was published by the Heritage Press in 1962. It is two volumes, 11.5" x 8", 231 pages and 547 pages--the two weigh 5 1/2 lbs. Both volumes are heavily illustrated and volume two includes a large fold-out copy of the original map. The books originally came in a slipcase, which I don't have.
