HEINZ GOERKE mit der Inbetriebnahme des Berliner Großklinikums Steglitz auch zum Ärztlichen Direktor dieses Krankenhauses berufen wurde und er noch ein zweites Mal, sozusagen unmittelbar nach der Übernahme des Lehrstuhls für Geschichte der Medizin an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in München, zum Ärztlichen Direktor des ebenfalls kurz vor der Inbetriebnahme stehenden Klinikums Großhadern in München ernannt wurde. -- Die Vorbereitung und Leitung zweier solcher bedeutender Einrichtungen erfordert in der Regel den vollen Einsatz der dazu berufenen Persönlichkeit. Aber wie es Professor Dr. Goerke verstand, auch noch die ebenfalls als Vollbeschäftigung anzusehende Leitung zweier Institute für Geschichte der Medizin, die dazu noch zu den bedeutendsten des deutschen Sprachraums gehören, mit seiner Vorstandstätigkeit zu kombinieren und noch darüber hinaus im Jahre 1973 das inzwischen weltweit bekannte Deutsche Medizinhistorische Museum in Ingolstadt zu gründen und auszubauen, das bleibt wohl für immer das Geheimnis des Jubilars, der vor 65 Jahren, am 13.
