In this study, pretreatments, e.g. ultrasound, chemical and combined chemical-ultrasound were investigated for their effective sludge disintegration. Anaerobic digestion of pretreated sludge, subsequently, was conducted in order to evaluate the effects of pretreatments on digester''s performance.
